Works In Progress

I am editing my short fiction story called “Silence Roars.” It is about Nora, a fist generation Irish American who winds up becoming a single mom. Her 15-year-old son Jake is wise for his age. He had to grow up quickly. One day at Nora’s job, she has an incident that results in her losing her hearing. She encounters the deaf community where she learns to listen to her inner voice. Will facing her inner turmoil transform her into a bitter woman or a better woman?

I am also working on a nonfiction biographical piece called “How to Be Invisible.” It talks about my experience growing up in American culture being from a background that is not often seen or acknowledged.
